September 24th - 28th, 2012

Daniel and I decided to be nice and get Barnacle a new bed. We don't buy him beds because he rips them apart and we end up cleaning fluff off the floor for weeks. But, I guess we just broke down while watching him sleep on a ripped apart blanket (which is his own doing).

We bought it for Barnacle, but Bootstrap gets the most use out of it. I think I've seen Barnacle on it about 4 times. I have found Bootstrap sleeping on it every day since we got it.

On the 25th I discovered that Admiral has a strange fetish.

He eats plastic. Since taking this picture I have seen him attempt to eat many plastic things including a couple more wrappers and a mini reeses bag. I have also seen him eat quite a bit of dog food. He's a very weird cat.

At work, I have been thrown into the land of temptation.

This pumpkin bucket has been planted on my desk. In it is a lot of chocolate. Normally I'm not a huge sweets person, but if you put a giant pumpkin filled with mini reeses on my desk I'm going to eat them. In fact, I recently had to replenish the reeses because I ate them all.

Damn Halloween.

Lately I have realized the leaves are changing colors. I always mean to take a picture of a tree that looks like it's on fire (red) but I always end up forgetting. So, on the 27th I took a picture outside my window.

Not the best depiction of fall but I'll try to do better.

Finally, yesterday, the 28th, I realized I love my husband sooooo much.

It's not every man who would let you photograph a moment like this. I'm not going to say he'd endorse my publishing it on the internet, but I don't think he'll throw a fit about it either. More likely he will go find Bootstrap and have a cuddle session over it.

P.S. this moment is not even a tiny bit staged.

September 23rd, 2012

Sundays are very exciting days. We spent the day cleaning, and then we took Barnacle on a walk.

It appears that everyone else had the same idea, so it was a fun walk of pulling Barnacle to the side and trying to stop him from jumping all over passersby. We did get him to poop in the woods and out of sight, but then an evil little dog (and his owner) ran up to him barking like a demon, so we had to pick up the poop to avoid persecution.

Not that we let our dog poop in the woods and don't pick it up. We're not those people.

Not at all.

September 16th - 22nd, 2012

On the 16th, Bootstrap and Barnacle decided to sunbathe together.

I don't know why Barnacle's ear is flyin' out, but I love it.

My animals are pretty low-key and love everyone, especially Barnacle. So the picture on the 17th is a little odd.

Admiral and Barnacle look like they just left the pet cemetery. Freaky.

On the 18th the cats proved they are beggars.

Here they are, waiting to be fed. I'm fairly certain Admiral is picking up all of Bootstrap's bad habits. So awesome.

We got a new PX, because we're fancy, and new fast food comes along with this upgrade. So, obviously our eating habits have improved. Example: the 19th.

Seeing that Popeye's box in my fridge makes me feel really, really classy. Like really.

On the 20th I photographed a regular occurrence.

This is what happens when I try to take a shower. Usually I don't have the phone in there with me, but I had to capture this. A lot of times I have to literally pick them up out of the tub lest they get wet and FREAK out. Which has happened. More than once.

Yesterday Daniel and I went out to eat.

It was a good night. Until later on we decided to clip the cats nails.

Which leads us to today, when I discovered this:

Most definitely Admiral's handiwork. He turns into a hyena when we cut his nails. He literally started panting while we were clipping them. This is why we can never take him to a groomer. He's a psycho.

September 9th - 15th, 2012

I'd make an excuse for not posting for a week but mostly it was because I go to bed at 9 and plugging in my camera seems like a lot of work. What a sad, sad life.

Anyway! On the 9th I pay homage to a wonderful idea.

I bought a giant bag of prepackaged candy corn - it's the perfect way to prevent overdosing on them. Of course, if I have a bad day Daniel usually finds me surrounded with empty candy corn baggies all over the floor, the couch, my lap.

On the 10th I discovered something.

Daniel doesn't really understand the idea of a "change jar". I asked him about it and his reasoning for putting it in there was that he forgot he had it. You know, because that explains everything.

On the 11th, Admiral opted for camo.

Either that or the backpack is just really comfy.

On the 12th it turned into fall.

Rainy and cold. I prefer this to summer.

On the 13th my cats decided to crowd my lap.

I did not stage this. My cats are super weird and snuggle fiends.

On the 14th Daniel was a snuggle fiend.

This is how he spent his Friday night. Party animals. Cuddle animals.

Today Bootstrap and Admiral broke in our new pillows.

This is why we bought them, so the cats could snuggle it up.

September 4th - 8th, 2012

Something you should know about me, I'm slightly strange. One of my quirks would be how I eat. I tend to eat in patterns. I won't eat during commercials. I eat my starburst in order (pink, yellow, red, orange). And sometimes I line up my food.

As it is September it is now socially acceptable to eat candy corn for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, I have obviously been indulging in the delicious candy. What may be considered a little off is that I line them up like this every time I eat them. I don't really know why, but I always feel compelled to do so.

On the 5th, Daniel showed his closeness to Bootstrap is just getting odd.

He uses him as an armrest. And Bootstrap just lets him. Weirdos.

On the 6th they just snuggled.

It's kinda cute.

Yesterday I went to the PX and saw something weird.

Why in the hell would you want a creepy cat and  creepy bird in your window? I don't understand this at all. If you like cats and birds, just get cats and birds. But, if you get birds we can't be friends. Bird people are weird.

Today I had to take a nap, and apparently so did Bootstrap.

So he curled up on me and fell asleep. Cute little dork.

September 3rd, 2012

Time for another chapter in the married life saga.

A couple days ago I threw away a couple of my husband's tan shirts - they're part of his uniform. But, he has about twelve of them, and I threw these away because the arm pits had hardened from too much deodorant exposure. I threw them away in the bedroom garbage, which is pretty much only there for discarded tissues and the odd used dryer sheet.

Today I went to throw away a tissue and noticed the shirts weren't in there - they were pretty easy to spot in the nest of tissues. So, this happened.

September 1st & 2nd, 2012

One of the requisites for adopting a pet for our family is that the animal must be a weirdo. Like Admiral yesterday, the first.

Here he is, chewing a part of Barnacle's rawhide bone. I turned around and there he was, chewing. Of course, Barnacle came by and snatched it about 30 seconds after this picture was taken. I don't think he went off to chew it, he just didn't want Admiral to have it. Bastard.

Today, it was Barnacle's turn to be weird.

He put on my flip flop. I tried pulling it off of him for about a minute and he wasn't budging. So, I decided to take a picture of it. In hindsight, I should've put the other flip flop on him.

Also today, I tried to beautify.

So I dyed my hair. This is my big excitement for Labor Day weekend. Hair dye and weird animals.
