June 24th, 2012

Today we decided Barnacle needed some exercise because he's starting to look like a plump sausage. So, we took him on a walk in the country and I found pretty flowers.

Flowers and wheat fields. We live in farm country and when it doesn't smell like horse shit it's easy to see how pretty it is.

Also today...

The cats decided to play. Well, Bootstrap wanted to play, Admiral wanted to sleep. So they compromised and batted at each other until they eventually went to sleep - which is what they're doing right now.

June 21st - 23rd, 2012

Throwing Admiral in with the sharks didn't work out too well, so we decided quarantine was the way to go.

Admiral got his very own room, complete with litter box, food, water and a makeshift bed. We kept him in there for a day, then we played switcheroo and made Bootstrap get used to Admiral's scent.

On the 22nd, Daniel and I got some Admiral pictures in.

Of course, Daniel was very enthusiastic about the pictures.

Today, Daniel and I actually got the weekend off together and we slept until noon.

So, I got some sleepy snuggle pictures in.

Of course, the cats had to join in.

They are now comfortable being around one another and even shared bed space last night. Bootstrap especially likes running up to Admiral, sniffing him, then running away.

June 17th - 20th

Lots of pictures but not lots of days.

So, the 17th, Barnacle showed that he's a dork.

When we tell him to go in his crate, he goes in and then walks halfway out. I think it's because he never has to go in his crate anymore so he's like, I'll go in - but I won't stay in.

On the 18th, Bootstrap walked a tightrope.

He likes to jump on the baby gate and just sit his chunky butt on there. I think it gives him the high ground from Barnacle.

On the 19th I decided to show off my Prague souvenir.

These nesting dolls and Benito are BFFs.

Finally, today we got a new addition...

Admiral! He is the captain over Bootstrap and Barnacle. Well, Bootstrap is totally freaked out by the tiny, ten week kitten. But, he's the Admiral nonetheless.

Barnacle is, of course, much too interested in Admiral, and Admiral is annoyed by Barnacle. So am I, actually.

Daniel-Admiral bonding time! Of course, Barnacle had to butt in.

June 16th, 2012

So, this happened today.

Just imagine a lot of dinosaur roars and you'll have the soundtrack for this moment.

Not really much more to say about that.

June 15th, 2012

Today it turns out good deeds sometimes are recognized.

If you recall, a picture a couple of days ago featured ink stained hands from working with magazines. The task was dull and caused backaches and obviously dirtiness. It's one of those things you have to do in life that is in no way glamorous and contains a lot of discomfort. However, this morning I was rewarded with flowers from the coworker whom I helped by doing this task.

The task still sucked, but I'm done now, and I get pretty flowers to show for it. I will categorize this as a scooooooore.

June 12th - 14th, 2012

I'm not keeping up with my 2 a day posts. But, at least I caught it at 3 days.

Anyway, on the 3rd Bootstrap decided he would not be left at home.

Daniel was packing for PT and it turns out whenever you leave a vessel unoccupied Bootstrap decides he is the appropriate fill-in.

On the 13th I had to do a cringe-worthy task at work.

It involved working with these magazines. I didn't really mind the work, but I do mind dirty hands. I cringed the entire time and counted down the seconds until I could wash my hands.

Finally, I learned Barnacle's true identity.

He is dino the dinosaur from the flintstones. So, I had to document it.

June 10th & 11th, 2012

On the 10th, I woke up early because of Daniel's stupid, jackwang alarm. So, this is what happened.

As soon as Bootstrap realizes we're awake he climbs on top of one of us. Usually he prefers Daniel, probably because Daniel doesn't move around, is about 5 degrees warmer than I am, and well he just prefers Daniel. But, this morning Daniel left for PT, so Bootstrap climbed on top of me and purred - loudly. So, I felt the need to take this picture to document his crazy weirdo-ness.

Today I had an annoying morning.

Conversation between me and the medic taking my blood:

Medic: I'm just gonna go ahead and stick you with the needle. *stick*
Me: *flinches* Stop stabbing me, jackwang!
Medic: Whaaaa...

It went just like that.

Getting my blood taken hurts like a mothereffing bitch. It doesn't matter what arm, it hurts, I do actually flinch. One day I'm going to flinch so hard I move and they'll rip my arm open. Sucks.

Also, fuck my thyroid, fuck it so much. I already have another blood test scheduled for August. Yay.

Later on in the day the sky was split in half.

Half blue sky - half storm clouds. Kind of explains my day, except with more storm clouds.

June 9th, 2012

We went downtown and we wandered into a fest of some sort.

Complete with carousel, bouncy houses, and, inexplicably, a giant hamster ball. I didn't get the hamster ball in this picture, but there was a child in it, so you can imagine how odd it was.

While the fest made for a good 366 picture, the parking lot made for a good case of road rage. The entire place was packed with cars and slow walking imbeciles. So, we parked at the mall and wandered into this craziness. Suffice it to say, I'm not good with crowds. But I'm good at photographing them.

Well, I'm ok at it.

June 8th, 2012

Picture overload for just one day!

The first: a diet coke conspiracy.

This is the second diet coke I have taken out that has had a lopsided pop top. The first time, I didn't notice in time and I was almost unable to open my beverage. Of course, I freaked out and jammed my thumb into the tab, which I realize runs the risk of slicing my finger and getting tetanus, but I'll be damned if I waste a diet coke.

Then, when I got home from work, I realized I have a lazy-ass dog.

He spent all day sleeping in his crate, so of course he needed to rest - on the floor.

Also, from this angle he really looks like an overlarge puppy.

Finally, I decided my hair was driving me crazy.

So, I dyed it, and I like it much better. Plus: bonus bootstrap.

And those dishes aren't dirty - we just have them on display.

June 7th, 2012

You know what's fun? Hives.

It might be provocative to use a picture of my stomach, but seeing as it's to show a skin ailment I kind of judge myself. Oh well, this is where the bulk of the hives were/are.

I thought I was going crazy at work, scratching everywhere. I really thought that I caused this myself by just flat out itching everywhere. I thought that until I went to the bathroom, looked under my shirt and freaked out, my stomach and back were covered in hives. I stayed at work for about an hour longer but I was about ten seconds from ripping my clothes off and scratching the hell out of myself, and I didn't think that would be very professional.

I went home and looked in the mirror and freaked out again, because it looked so much worse than I thought it was. That was when I took a bath, took benadryl, and promptly passed out and woke up to some hives having faded out and some brand new ones! Like this:

Gross.

I'd take more benadryl right away, but I don't want to go to sleep at 8 pm. That shit is potent, guys.

June 5th & 6th, 2012

Two at a time, that's how my blog's goin'.

On the 5th I posted a rare sighting, one of my quirks.

I wear sunglasses in the rain.

Ok, not every time. But, if the clouds are bright enough I'll wear them, especially if I'm tired. Then I get weird looks from other drivers/pedestrians. That's when I blast Corey Hart's "I Wear My Sunglasses at Night" and gun it.

Yesterday I tried my hand at making one of those cloying facebook posters about soldiers and kittens or puppies or dogs, et cetera.

The first thing that Daniel did when he got home from work was snuggle with the cat. Further, the cat was bouncing off the walls until Daniel got home - being a real shit. Then the soldier walks in the door and he's all cuddly and sleepy. Dick.

June 3rd & 4th, 2012

Today's post is actually Daniel-centric, in that they are both pictures of Daniel, and he didn't want me to take either.

On the 3rd we went to an American restaurant that is awesome and keeps us sane, because Germans do NOT understand how to make a burger.

Daniel, as you can see, had ribs. It kinda looks like he ate a dinosaur, and that pile of bones wasn't even all of them, he had another little plateful.

Now, don't misunderstand, not all American restaurants in Germany have good food, we have been to one that was just awful. But, this particular restaurant is owned by an American, who ships his beef in from Wisconsin, and is an awesome cook, so the food is awesome.

If anyone in the area is dying for an American burger, or ribs, or steak, here's the website: http://www.johns-schwabach.de/

You won't be sorry you visited.

Today, I took a picture of the cat and Daniel, which isn't really new.

What is new is that they're in the exact same pose, just loungin' around.

You can also see that Daniel has his "don't take a picture of me" face on in both pictures. I don't know what he expects, but I'll never stop taking pictures of him, especially when he just ate a brontosaurus or when he's snuggling with the cat.

June 1st & 2nd, 2012

June started rainy and vomit filled. Barnacle's last vomit deposit happened at 4:30 am on the 1st, and, luckily, since then he has been vomit free. He's currently enjoying a diet of white rice and occasionally chicken and scrambled eggs. But, tomorrow he goes back to dog food, because he's back to normal already, which is proven by the pictures from yesterday.

These pictures look like they were taken during some strange dog-human soap opera.

What really happened was that Ski let the dog jump all over him while on the bed. Usually, Barnacle does not get away with that, but we felt bad for him because of his recent illness. If anything this shows that Barnacle is back to his usual self - his freak self.

Then today, my animals formed a freaky yin-yang.

Barnacle likes to lay on the bath mats, and I guess Bootstrap got jealous, so this happened. I just happened to witness it and commemorate it forever.

I know, my life is so fabulously interesting.
